How do I control my TV with my YouView remote control?
You can programme your YouView remote to
control a number of functions on your TV, like the volume and channel. Just
follow the instructions below for the remote control you have:
YouView remote control
Find the right code for your TV by opening
this list of codes for different makes of TV >
Hold down both the TV and TV AV buttons for
at least three seconds until the blue light flashes three times.
Release the buttons and enter the
four-digit code for your brand of TV. If the code works, the blue light will
flash another three times
Point your remote at your TV and hold the
TV button until your TV turns off. This can take a while as your remote will
try different codes for your brand of TV (the blue light will blink briefly
each time it tries a new code)
When your TV turns off, release the button,
then test your remote by pressing TV to turn your TV back on, then Vol +, Vol -
and TV AV
Some TV’s will not respond to the TV button press to turn your TV back on.
If you see a red light on your TV then you could try pressing OK or go back to
step 4
If everything's okay, press OK to confirm.
The blue light will flash again and your remote will be programmed for your TV
If it didn't work, start again from Step 4 and
the remote control will continue to search from where you left off (or you may
want to restart from Step 1 if you're not sure you entered the right code)
To reset your remote, hold down the button, DELETE SUB and BT PLAYER buttons at
the same time until the blue light flashes three times
Find the code for the make and model of
your TV from the list of television codes
Select the TV button on your YouView remote
control. The button will blink once
Hold down the TV button for three seconds
until the button light stays on
Enter the three digit code that matches the
make and model of your television. Every time a number is entered, the button
will blink. When the third digit is entered, the button will blink twice
If the correct three digit code is entered,
your TV will switch off
Press the OK button on your YouView remote
control and the TV button will blink three times. The set-up is complete
Find the code for the make and model of
your TV by going to www.bt.com/help/codes
Press and hold the Vol- and Mute buttons on
your remote control for about five seconds until the blue light flashes three
times
Let go of the buttons and enter the
four-digit code for your TV
If you entered a correct code, the blue
light on your remote will flash three times. If you entered the wrong code,
please repeat the steps above using one of the other codes for your TV
Once you've entered a correct code, test
the remote control by trying to change the volume and pressing the mute button.
If the buttons don't work properly, start again by repeating the steps above
using one of the other codes for your TV
Your YouView remote control should now
operate your TV, and you don't need to take these steps again
Using your remote control after you've
programmed it:
To turn the TV on or off, hold down
the button while pressing the On/Off
button on the remote
To change volume, or turn off the sound,
you don't need to hold down the button
To change channels on the TV, hold down
the button whilst pressing the Ch+/-
button
