How To Replace A Lost or Broken Remote Control

A frantic time for people is the moment when they learn that their remote control is lost or broken. How it got that way is unimportant. The bottom line is that the remote control is gone. No longer will it serve its master. While we would like to mourn our loss, there is no time. We need to find a replacement...now.

Usually, a quick drive to Target or Best Buy will suffice because those types of stores sell a vast selection of universal remote control models in the TV accessories section. Most universal remote controls will control multiple devices, like TV, DVD player, VCR, etc. Others will control only one device.

They are not brand specific, which means you can use them with any make/model device made by almost every electronics manufacturer. Be sure to read the package to make sure your device(s) is compatible.

When choosing a universal remote control, pay attention to the types of devices it controls and its overall size.Because technology allows manufacturers to make remotes half the size with almost twice the amount of buttons, I recommend buying a remote control that will fit comfortably in your hand with buttons large enough to press without hitting other buttons. Some other features to consider are:

Buttons that light up (illuminate)

Overall design - does it work with your room's decor

Warranty - 90 days minimum, 1+ year preferred

Durability is especially an issue with remote controls because they are so important to us. However, when looking over different models at a store it will be difficult to know which remote will meet your performance and durability needs. This is where a good warranty will pay off. Equally if not more important than the warranty is the store's return policy should you decide to return the remote control. Odds are that you will return the device way before you ever use the warranty, if you use it at all.

If you don't want a universal remote control, the manufacturer of your device should be equipped to sell a replacement model. If they can't directly sell to you over the phone or Internet, they should be able to direct you to the nearest dealer. My advice is to call your manufacturer to see how they can help you.Anycon remote control is a professional manufacture and exporter in China specialized in Bluetooth air mouse remote control, 2.4G RF air mouse remote control, voice control remote control for smart TV and android box remote control for more than 5 years,  OEM and ODM orders with customers, designs and specification are always welcome. It’s service is good!

If your remote is lost or broken and you are a cable or satellite customer then you will have to call your company to get a replacement. If it is broken, they should provide one to you for free. If it is lost, you might have to pay a replacement cost.
